Nomad Watch

About Nomad Watch

Research on costs, visas and taxes for people who live and work abroad.

Nomad Watch helps people decide where to live and work abroad. We research what it costs to live in a city, which visas and residency programs you can use, how you will be taxed and what daily life is like, and we publish it free for anyone to read.

What we do

We research every figure with our own proprietary methods, official sources first. We cover:

  • Costs of living for cities worldwide, with the currency and period of each figure
  • Digital nomad visas, residency programs and passport access
  • Income tax, special regimes for newcomers and tax treaties
  • Internet speed, safety and quality-of-life scores
  • Climate, events and local nomad communities

Our approach

We research every figure with our own methods, take it from the most authoritative source we can find, check it before it goes live and correct it in public when something changes. Official sources come first, every update is listed in our changelog, and we show "no data" rather than guess.

Read our standards for the details, including how to report an error.
