How the index works

Hub score
Seven parts, most of them a percentile among all cities: AI hub factors (nomad popularity, meetups, community presence, networking, coworking, nomad cafés), upcoming in-person events (at most 20 per source) and live groups and members (both scored against the busiest cities), fundamentals (nomad score, internet, cost), Wikipedia reach across languages, international pull (reading outside the country's own languages) and travel intent (Wikivoyage reading against Wikipedia reading).
Momentum
A city's share of all English Wikivoyage reading over the last three months, against the same three months a year earlier, compared with the typical city's change so shifts that hit every city cancel out. Wikipedia reading must move the same way for Rising or Cooling; without enough Wikivoyage reading, Wikipedia alone decides with stricter thresholds.
Ranking
Cities are ranked once they have at least 75% of the score's weight, which means a matched Wikipedia article. Months are scored only once they are complete.
