Dominica · Remote worker permit
Announced in the budget address of 4 August 2026 and not open for applications. The Minister of Finance said eligible remote workers, retirees, and financially independent individuals and families will be able to obtain a free two-year "Live in Dominica" residence visa while earning their income abroad. Applicants must be able to support themselves, keep appropriate health coverage, and meet immigration and security requirements. No income figure, savings sum, application channel, or start date is in the speech. The same address says the government will begin the wider population programme this year. A separate line, citizenship through a Dominican grandparent, is dated 1 January 2027. This visa is not. This is not the Work In Nature visa, which remains the open 18-month remote-work route. Retirees and people of independent means are named alongside remote workers. That part of the announcement is a residence route and should also be picked up by the residency-program research. Nothing published yet says the visa can be renewed, leads to permanent residence or citizenship, or allows local employment.
