Five-plus-five-year social visit pass from Sarawak's Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts. The principal is at least 30, places RM 500,000 on fixed deposit in Sarawak, and shows RM 10,000 a month in pension or offshore income, or a savings balance if there is no income. The principal must spend 30 days a year in Sarawak. The pass is valid in Sarawak.

With a dependent the income test is RM 15,000 a month. An applicant with neither pension nor offshore income may instead show a three-month closing balance of RM 100,000, or RM 200,000 with a dependent, subject to panel approval. That balance does not replace the RM 500,000 deposit. The processing fee is RM 5,000, non-refundable, about USD 1,224 at the Bank Negara 11:30 midpoint on 9 October 2026, RM 4.0835 per USD. A Sarawak sponsor or a licensed S-MM2H agent must submit the file through MOAS. From 16 May 2025 a personal sponsor is limited to a spouse, parent, child or sibling. Full-time work is not allowed. Part-time professional work up to 20 hours a week needs state approval, in education, banking or securities, manufacturing or medical. A minority joint-venture stake of up to 49 percent is allowed in an approved sector, with paid-up capital of at least RM 250,000. Property is optional: at least RM 600,000 in Kuching Division and RM 500,000 in other divisions. The first approval is 5+5 years. After 10 years the participant files a new application six months before expiry. A letter of good conduct and a medical report endorsed in Sarawak are required. Medical insurance is required; the main-applicant checklist limits that line to applicants under 60. Israel and North Korea are excluded. The guide does not offer permanent residence or citizenship.
