Cashless Friendly
Cards are accepted widely. A restaurant coperto is common, a tip is not required, and leaving the change is the usual gesture. A tip cannot be added to a card slip, so small cash still helps. 4

Fattoria I Ricci, Località Rostolena 14, lists rooms and apartments from €84 to €108 a night for two, with breakfast and wifi, 4.5 km from the town and about 50 minutes by car from Florence. A live monthly furnished-rental tariff for the village was not on a page opened this pass. 20

Best Coworking Space
No priced coworking operator in Vicchio was on a page opened this pass. The municipal library on Piazza Don Milani 6 has free wifi and public computers after a one-time registration. In Florence, about 25 km away, NOTONLYDESK lists a day pass from €15 and a dedicated desk from €149 a month, both before VAT. The Vicchio cost file uses that €149 month plus 22% VAT. 12 21 1
Best Cafe for Work
The municipal library on Piazza Don Milani 6 is the reliable desk: free wifi and public computers, after you register once. A cafe that publishes a laptop-work setup was not found. 12

Transportation

Top Regional Airline
Florence Airport Amerigo Vespucci (Peretola) is the airport the national park lists for this side of Tuscany. On the airport timetable page labelled summer 2025, Volotea (flight code V7) covers the domestic routes, including Elba, Cagliari, Olbia, Bari and Catania. A winter 2026 timetable was not on that page. 22 29

The same Florence airport timetable names ITA Airways, Air France, KLM, British Airways and Air Dolomiti among the carriers. That page is the summer 2025 timetable, not a winter 2026 schedule. 29 22
Highway Access
The A1 Milan–Rome motorway serves the Mugello at the Barberino di Mugello toll exit. Park directions continue from that exit through Borgo San Lorenzo into the Sieve valley, where Vicchio sits. 22
Main Train/Transit Hub
Vicchio station is on the Pontassieve–Borgo San Lorenzo line. Local buses are Autolinee Toscane. The municipal library on Piazza Don Milani 6 is beside the station. 3 12
Public Transport Passes
Autolinee Toscane extraurban monthly passes are priced by distance. Up to 10 km is €43.40 for a calendar month, and 30.1 to 40 km is €84.30. The Vicchio cost file uses €43.40 for local Mugello routes and €84.30 for a commute toward Florence. An urban add-on cannot be added for Florence. 14
Regional Travel
Regional trains run on the Pontassieve–Borgo San Lorenzo line, toward Florence via Pontassieve and toward Borgo San Lorenzo, with the Faentina continuing toward Faenza. A live minute count and fare were not opened. 3

Nuovo Ospedale del Mugello (USL Toscana Centro), Viale della Resistenza 60, 50032 Borgo San Lorenzo, switchboard 055 84511. It is in the neighbouring comune, not in Vicchio. 13 1

Palestra Opplà, Via della Resistenza 2, was still posting class schedules in September 2026. Its own site did not open, and the directory page prints no monthly fee. McFIT publishes Flex from €49.90 a month, the figure in the Vicchio cost file, without naming a Mugello club. 27 28

Best Local Dish to Try
Tortelli mugellani, potato-filled pasta, eaten with local Sangiovese. Sluurpy, updated 26 October 2026, puts an inexpensive meal at €15 to €20 and a full restaurant meal at €25 to €40. Trattoria Giotto, Corso del Popolo 63, cooks traditional Mugello food and is closed on Monday. 9 26 15
Affordable Shopping Spots
The Thursday morning street market is in Piazza della Vittoria (moved from Piazza 6 Marzo; a 2017 tourism page still names the old square). Coop at Via Verdi 2 is open Monday to Saturday and closed Sunday. 23 24 17

Evening life is the historic centre around Piazza Giotto. There is no club street. Sluurpy lists Fluid Cocktail Bar at Corso del Popolo 45. 8 26

Teatro Comunale Giotto, Piazzetta dei Buoni 1, a horseshoe theatre of about 180 seats restored in 1995. For the 2025/26 season a single ticket is €17 full or €15 reduced, and a subscription to seven shows is €100 (€90 reduced). Shows start at 21:15. 16

Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) Rules
Italy has CFC rules. The Italy tax profile records an effective foreign tax rate below half the Italian rate. PwC also describes a 15% test for certified accounts and requires more than one third of revenue to be passive; the half-IRES comparison applies if foreign tax is below 15% or accounts lack certification. 35

Residents pay tax on worldwide income, with national IRPEF up to 43% plus regional and municipal additions. Lago di Montelleri is a short walk from the centre, for a picnic or a canoe. Barbiana, on ring 5 of the Mugello walking network, is the walk up to don Milani church and school. 9 8

Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna. From the A1 at Barberino di Mugello, continue past Borgo San Lorenzo toward San Godenzo and Londa. The park office is in Pratovecchio, in Arezzo province. 22

The eco-trail along the Sieve from Ponte a Vicchio to Borgo San Lorenzo is described as an easy family walk or ride. The painters paths leave the historic centre for Vespignano. 9 8
