Notes and caveats

Law N° 32421 would increase the continuous marriage period to four years, but its effective date depends on publication of implementing regulations. The official Congress tracker still lists those regulations as outstanding as of 9 October 2026. Current Migraciones guidance continues to list two continuous years of residence while married. The service requires INTERPOL clearance following a court injunction and a health declaration; the latter is not a medical examination. Fee S/ 204.40 is approximately US$59.20 at S/ 3.453 per USD on 9 October 2026. Residency required: resident migratory status.
