The statutory name is the Remote Employment Stamp under the Remote Employment Act, 2020 (Act 14 of 2020, now Cap. 15.20). It came into force on 12 January 2021. The revised edition of 1 January 2025 leaves the income test, fees, duration and tax exemption as enacted. Apply online. The programme says a complete application is decided in 7 business days, and that an incomplete file can take 14 business days or longer. The stamp is issued on arrival and lasts 12 months from that date. Renewal is a fresh application, filed at least one month before expiry, at the same fee. The Act sets no cap on how many times it can be renewed and no gap between stamps. Income must exceed EC$189,000 over the coming twelve months and must come from outside Montserrat. The programme page states that test as US$70,000 (EC$189,000). At the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank peg of EC$2.70 = US$1, still the rate on 9 October 2026, EC$189,000 is exactly US$70,000. No monthly figure and no extra income per family member are published. The threshold is not described as under revision. Fees are non-refundable and are the same for a grant and a renewal. One applicant is EC$1,350, which the programme page charges as US$500. An applicant with up to three family members is EC$2,025 (US$750 on the programme page). Each further person is EC$540 in the Act, US$200 at the same peg, while the programme page says US$250. No Order amending the statutory fees was found. Income earned outside Montserrat is not taxed. Holders are deemed not resident, and the stamp grants no right of residence and no path to citizenship. Employment from Montserrat, and services to a person or business there, are prohibited. Health insurance must cover the applicant and every family member for the whole stay. The programme page still asks for Montserrat and COVID-19 cover. A police record is on the application checklist, but it is not in the Act's list of enclosures.
