Notes

This is the stay of less than one year, not the residence route. Article 54(1)(i) of Law 23/2007 grants it for remote subordinate or independent work for a person or entity outside Portugal. The visa is issued for the length of that stay and allows multiple entries. The income test matches the residence route: an average over the last three months of at least four times the mainland minimum wage, €920 in 2026, so €3,680 a month. The consular fee is €110, about $123 at the ECB reference rate of 1.1186 USD per EUR on 8 October 2026. Children under 6 are exempt. It does not become a residence permit. Someone who wants to remain applies for the residence visa instead. Twelve months in the duration fields is the whole-month ceiling; the statute says the stay must be shorter than one year.
