Resolução Normativa CNIg 13/2017, as amended by Resolução CNIG/MJSP 49/2024. The Ministry describes this as residence for work without an employment relationship in Brazil. If the applicant is abroad, the Brazilian company files the prior authorization; the person then applies for VITEM IX. Someone already in Brazil may file as well. The plan runs for three years, and continuity depends on proof of execution filed up to 90 days before the end of the granted term, even though the published term is indefinite. There is no set number of jobs. Funds must be shown with a foreign-exchange contract coded as foreign direct investment, and the capital must be paid in. Real-estate investment is a separate record. An executive posted to represent a foreign company's investment (RN 11/2017) is not this route. Family reunion, fees, the two-year absence rule, tax residency at day 184, and ordinary naturalization after four years of indefinite residence match the other Brazilian residence records. Amounts in USD use PTAX venda R$5.0119 on 2026-10-08. Language: Portuguese communication; several documentary forms are accepted.
