About Khao San
Banglamphu's backpacker strip of Khao San Road, Soi Rambuttri and Phra Athit Road, with hostels, guesthouses, massage shops and bars that stay loud until late. The riverside Santichaiprakan Park and the cafes of Phra Athit are calmer, and the Grand Palace is a short walk south. There is no rail station, so most trips are by river boat, taxi or the MRT at Sanam Chai.
Best for: Backpackers and budget travellers who want cheap rooms, street food and bars open until late
