Tax system
Territorial Territorial system: business tax applies to Seychelles-sourced income (activities conducted, goods situated or rights used in Seychelles). Foreign-sourced passive income received by residents was largely exempt historically; from 16 September 2021 covered companies must meet economic substance rules for certain non-resident passive receipts. Employment emoluments are taxed separately under the Income and Non-Monetary Benefits Tax Act (progressive PAYE). Self-employed and business profits are taxed under the Business Tax Act.
