Serbia introduced its Temporary Residence Permit for Digital Nomads in 2023. Also available: Self-Employment Visa (single permit, up to 3 years) for freelancers/entrepreneurs. Income threshold: ~EUR 3,500/mo or USD 42,000/year. Processing: 30-60 days. Serbia is not EU or Schengen. Flat 10% income tax. Many nationalities get 30-90 day visa-free access. Alternative: Self-Employment route requires EUR 500 in Serbian bank account + EUR 116 visa fee.
