Notes

KOTRA's visa guide states the company threshold as KRW 100 million brought in from abroad under the Foreign Investment Promotion Act. The same figure is the "current" statutory standard in the immigration visa navigator's permanent-residence note for D-8. The copy of the KOTRA guide opened here is the 2023 edition (KOTRA 23-017). KOTRA's repository lists a 2026 edition, and that PDF was not opened. USD uses KRW 1,342.80 per USD on 9 October 2026. The visa also covers staff dispatched from the foreign parent or from the investor. It is not permission to take any job in Korea. KOTRA says the spouse and underage children receive F-3 for the same period as the principal. Parents are not included on that page. KOTRA says D-8 holders are exempt from listed status-of-stay fees, including extension and change of status. The initial visa fee is not on that exemption list. The stored fee is the statutory unlimited multiple-entry charge of USD 90 per person, and the same figure is stored for a dependent visa. The visa navigator's ordinary permanent-residence line for someone on D-7 through D-10 is more than five years in Korea, with conduct, livelihood and basic attainment. Social Integration Program level 5 meets the basic-attainment part of that ordinary route. A separate high-investment permanent-residence line in the same booklet, USD 500,000 and five Korean employees, was not copied into the investment options because the booklet's other investor prices are out of date. No single sojourn length for D-8 is printed in the pages read. General naturalization is five continuous years of address and requires permanent residence.
