Notes

There is no salary floor. Routes include venture-capital or National Development Fund angel investment, at least NT$2 million raised on a government-approved platform, a recent incubator or startup-park placement with a recommendation, a patent or other expertise, plant-variety or animal-name rights, a leading startup or design award, a listed fashion, film or style recognition, another innovation finding by the competent authority, or at least NT$1 million invested in a recognized innovative company that the applicant runs as legal representative, manager or director. A team application is fewer than three people. The NT$1 million and NT$2 million figures are eligibility routes, not a mandatory investment, so they are not stored as investment options. The standard fee before entry, for an applicant who is not on the special reciprocal schedule, is NT$4,200, about US$132 at the Bank of Taiwan spot midpoint of NT$31.88 per US$1 on 9 October 2026. After entry the same applicant pays NT$5,000. Hong Kong and Macau residents pay NT$2,600. A dependent who enters on a visitor visa pays NT$3,200 for one year or NT$4,200 for two years. The stored dependent fee is the one-year visitor-entry charge, about US$100. An extension, filed in the four months before expiry, requires one of these: latest-year or three-year-average sales of at least NT$3 million, operating expenses of at least NT$1 million on the same basis, at least three full-time Taiwanese employees, or another performance finding. If the business test is not met, a job-seeking style extension of six months, once more for up to one year total, may still be available. The holder must apply separately under the Employment Service Act before working.
