CRITICAL CHANGE: From March 1, 2026, most foreign nationals must obtain a "Right to Labour Activity" permit before starting any paid work, freelance activity, or business operation in Georgia. Fines of 2,000 GEL for violations. Foreigners already working have until Jan 1, 2027 to regularize. Remote workers with no Georgian economic footprint may fall outside scope — pending clarification.
