Provisional identity sheet for remote work, not an entry visa. Decree 238/022 of 28 July 2022 rewrote article 8 of Decree 394/009. Literal B covers remote activity from Uruguay for entities abroad and does not require social-security enrolment. The sheet is for less than 180 days and may be renewed once, for another 180 days. There is no income floor: the published checklist is a copy of the travel document and a handwritten sworn declaration of sufficient means. The fee is 55.71 unidades indexadas and cannot be paid from abroad. The first filing does not ask for a criminal-record certificate, an employer letter, health insurance or a degree. The one renewal does: a current Uruguayan identity document, a new declaration, a vaccination certificate issued in Uruguay, and national criminal records for applicants over 18 from every country where they lived at least six months in the previous five years. Some nationalities still need a visa to enter. The permit does not authorise a Uruguayan payroll. It has no family category and no tax exemption. Work performed in Uruguay is Uruguayan-source income. Staying longer means a separate temporary or permanent residence application under articles 7 and 4 of Decree 394/009.
