Decreto 208-2003, article 24, and article 25 of its regulation set the US$1,500 monthly pension. It must be generated abroad. The annual figures are twelve times that monthly test. Pensioners follow the rentista ban on salaried work. The Secretariat checklist charges US$300 for this residence and US$150 for a spouse, minor child, dependent adult child or grandparent. Foreigner-registry inscription is a further US$20. The qualifying pension is exempt from income tax under regulation article 29. The same one-time household-goods import and five-year vehicle import rules apply, and more than twelve consecutive months abroad without permission cancels the residence. Acuerdo Ministerial 374-2025 can accept half this pension only in its separate discretionary category.
