Notes

Cabinet Decision No. 28 of 2020, article 7, sets the QAR 730,000 floor and a presence of 90 days a year, continuous or split. Value is the market value accepted by the Ministry of Justice real-estate registry. Decree-Law No. 23 of 2019 gives owners and usufructuaries a five-year permit that renews automatically, after the prescribed fees, for the whole time they keep the property, and an entry visa without a sponsor. The Invest Qatar guide hosted by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority says the holder can sponsor a spouse, children and parents, and can work for an employer in Qatar only after a separate work permit. Healthcare, education and investment privileges start at QAR 3,650,000 and are in `qatar-property-residency-permanent`. They are not the permanent-residency card under Law No. 10 of 2018. Sale registration is 0.25% of the property value. No residence-fee amount is published. Salaries and wages are outside Income Tax Law No. 24 of 2018. Taxable Qatar-source income is 10%. A natural person's capital gain on real estate or securities is exempt when those assets are not part of a taxable activity. QAR 730,000 is the figure the government equates to USD 200,000. At the Qatar Central Bank peg of QAR 3.64 per USD the same amount is about USD 200,549, inside the 10% band, so the stored dollar figure is unchanged.
