Fast-track naturalization for ethnic Greeks (omogeneis) whose ancestors left Greece or whose families have maintained Greek ethnic identity. Applicants must demonstrate "Greek consciousness" through language, participation in Greek diaspora organizations, cultural ties, and/or Orthodox faith. Includes descendants of Greeks from historical communities outside modern Greece (Pontus, Asia Minor, Egypt, etc.).
Highly discretionary process — authorities assess "Greek consciousness" and cultural ties. Evidence includes: participation in Greek Orthodox Church, membership in Greek diaspora organizations, knowledge of Greek language and culture, family history documentation. This is a naturalization pathway, not automatic recognition. Distinct from descent-based citizenship which requires documented municipal registration.
